How it works

The TagTile® coding language

Physical puzzle-like tiles that are the programming language. Students code before they can read or write, entirely screen-free.

Coding you can hold

Each TagTile® is a command KUBO reads and runs. Combine tiles and you've written an algorithm, like putting together a puzzle. There's no app to launch and no screen to manage, so every child is hands-on from the first minute.

The robot gives light and sound feedback and charges over USB, with themed maps and outfits that take coding across the curriculum: math, stories and geography.

A quick, hands-on walkthrough: drive a route, then meet Functions, the first taste of reusable code. No screen and no typing: the TagTiles are the program.

Loading KUBO…

Follow the steps above the board. Once you finish, the board stays open for free play: drag tiles from the stacks, stack them into a wall, and drop KUBO on any tile to run it.

Far more than forward and back

The TagTile® language is the programming language: physical, puzzle-like tiles students assemble like code. Unlike simple floor robots, KUBO teaches a real progression of computer-science concepts.

  1. 1

    Routes

Snap directional TagTiles to send KUBO on a path.

  2. 2

    Functions

Record a sequence and reuse it with a single tile.

  3. 3

    Loops

Repeat actions: the first taste of efficient code.

  4. 4

    Subroutines

Nest functions to build more complex behaviour.

  5. 5

    Variables

Store and change values as KUBO runs.

  6. 6

    Conditions

If/else logic: KUBO reacts to its world.

  7. 7

    Events

Trigger behaviour from events for real programs.

… and beyond

Math

Numbers, measurement and problem-solving.

Music

Rhythm, sequencing and melody.

Cross-curricular activities

Stories, geography and more: coding across the curriculum.
